Imagine & create a Spa : Methodology proposal
Each day, by randomly meeting people in professional events or through our contacts as spa consultants, we come across investors or wellness and beauty professionals who wish to create their own Spa. It usually is a true ‘life project’, a wonderful experience considered as the high point of their professional career in the beauty and wellness industry...
But to make sure the dream doesn’t turn into a nightmare, the project must be built on a solid and realistic basis. It’s a secret for no one that a spa requires a lot of time and money, and these businesses need to be profitable and viable in a time laps barely longer than the trends themselves.
Structure your action plan
This implies : being part of a very competitive market, adapting oneself to an administrative and statutory environment, managing a team, etc. Imagining and opening up a spa is therefore truly the same process as creating a business. No matter the size of the establishment he/she wishes to create and exploit, 200 m2 or 2,000 m2, the spa creator had better rely on a solid methodology in order to effectively progress with his/her project.
The leaders of the Spa industry, the hotel chains, the cosmetic brands are use to managing these types of projects; this is why our proposal is more for the « beginner ». Our goal : help them structure their action plan in order to serenely take on this exciting, but extremely demanding, spa business creation experience. Our proposal is therefore first and foremost for them.
It is YOUR project that is at stake. Therefore, it is up to you to define it. But you are not alone. What is important is for you to determine the main steps and your people resources, whom you can count on, in order to have a “winning” project.
TESTIMONY
SUCCESS
After a first successful institute creation experience, a spa seemed an obvious next choice. But I had many questions : how do I organize the espace, the circulation, how do I integrate this spa area into my institute without distrubing my clientele, what precautions do I need to take in order not to make mistakes in the design of the humid rooms... I don’t regret having used the services of a sap consultant. It allowed me to determine my project according to my objectives... and to reassure my banker who seemed to have cold feet when I needed to finance an activity that he didn’t understand. The construction has started, the architect is working according to my specifications, it’s definitely more reassuring for everyone !

A ski resort in the Pyrénées, a « Spa » center that allows you to travel to exotic places in a unique setting. In the begining, the concept was very interesting, but it wasn’t exploited to its full potential. The rooms were much too small, not really sound-proof, too marked by the thermalism culture... Dispite all of the employees’ good will, I was disappointed by the services, and I didn’t find the serene and wellness atmosphere I was looking for... Personally, I think a spa is something else...
