AUSTRALIA : Gregory BOWERING, Spa sculptor.

Greg BoweringEstablished near Byron Bay, in Australia, Greg has believed in an alternate and organic lifestyle for the past 30 years. This lifestyle has led him to live and work in many parts of the world, such as the Caribbean, where he recently carved a 3-metre Buddha on a beach. He has also lived in Provence, South of France. There, he has created enchanting sculptures, where the softness and the sensuality contradict the hardness of the stone he uses. We can feel this sensuality in his sculptures ‘Embrace’ and ‘Standing Stones’, made especially for the Aroma Cocoon Center.

Greg works with stone and wood, and says that sculpting is like meditation: ‘you don’t think about what you are going to do, you just focus on the moment.’ ‘Its like you get a flow of energy, you move without thinking about the movement and the form appears, moment by moment. This is when I feel I am really working well.”

France : Jean PYRKA, the Mosaic Magician Jean Pyrka
The ancestral art of mosaic, which admits all forms of creations, be it rudimentary or sophisticated, has given unlimited godsent inspiration to Jean PYRKA.

The self-taught mosaic artist, Jean Pyrka, has always had an artistic sense. One day, he finally decides to go forth and start creating glass tile mosaics.
His whole productions is made of glass tiles because of the colors, the tranparency, the light, but also because of the relief in the contrasts and the ‘movement’.
