The famous French marine skincare brand takes us to more southerly latitudes than its Mediterranean home with this new ritual inspired by Polynesian beauty traditions and holistic healing practices. This unique Spa experience explores two of the main ingredients to Polynesian well-being. First of all, the ancient Hawaiian “Lomi Lomi”, a deep, relaxing and restorative massage delivered with large, fluid movements and attention to rhythm. Forearm and hand stroke-applications flush away toxins whilst elbow pressure-applications free muscles from tension. The second ingredient is the evocative and sensual Monoi oil, meaning “scented oil” in Tahitian. Made from soaking Tiare Flower petals in coconut oil, Monoi is famous for its moisturising properties that are similar to those of Shea butter. The treatment is a 4-step transformative journey of the senses.
1^st stop: Taha’a, the Vanilla Island, where the Exotic Island Body Scrub with white sands, sea salt, ground coconut shells mixed with restorative Monoi and Vanilla oils will leave your skin feeling silky smooth and soft.
2^nd stop: Manihi, the Island of Pearls, where you will plunge deep into an azure lagoon thanks to the effervescent bath treatment with soothing bubbles and aquatic fragrance.
3^rd stop: Bora-Bora, and its beautiful white sands, where you can surrender to the Mahana Massage, inspired by the Lomi Lomi. This slow and powerful massage is combined with Tuipanos (warm sand poultices) and relaxes all the muscles in the body. As your whole being indulges in the Tiare fragrance, both mind and body are relieved of tension and relaxation is complete. Last stop: Raiatea, the Sacred Island, named so because it is home to the Tiare Apetahi, a flower so rare it can be grown no place else on earth - also an ingredient of the Sacred Oil, a light-capturing micro-pearl oil that gives a silken sheen to the skin for a perfect finishing touch.

MY OPINION: A ritual inspired by Polynesian traditions to relax your body and sublimate the skin. The sweet scents, warm sand poultices and other accessories such as the water cushions for your head and feet create a truly blissful atmosphere whilst the Polynesian know-how is beautifully applied. At the heart of the ritual, the impressive technique of the Mahana Massage, created by Thalgo, is a ballet evocative of Polynesian dances: a perfect fusion of creativity and tradition.
